Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and ducks.

I realized that it has been nearly 3 weeks since I last posted. In that time Mike, Aimee and the kids went to Toronto and then returned for a few days, I caught Avery and Maya's cough/cold/not covid (still have it, it's stubborn) and am recovering from lumpectomy surgery.  But taking pictures of Cigi today and putting them on the computer prompted me to do a catch-up post.

I completed the "Puffy Pansies" rug in time to submit it to the OHCG along with Cigi's rug and the Tree Spirit.

Mike, Aimee and the kids returned for a few days

Rick had suggested that they might like to see the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, at the Hamilton Airport, so we met him there.

They were able to run around in the big open hanger and view, but not touch, the planes, most of which still fly and are used in air shows or for tourist flights.

I had expected them to be most impressed with the huge bombers and transport planes but, when asked which was their favorite.....

Aver chose the little

Beechcraft Bonanza.

Maya's favorite

was the Tutor

because they got to climb in and play with the joysticks.

Sad to see them go but they have left reminders, in the form of random leggo pieces.

Not only are the birds returning and plants popping up but there is activity on the lake .... Lakers, tugs and fishing tugs (the season for Smelt fishing) are now plying the waters again.

I woke one morning to ducks under the birdfeeders.

Such a handsome fellow.

Another morning and there were hundreds of gulls and Mergansers fishing

and courting

right in front

of my place.

Must have been a school of Smelt and it got them in the mood.

Today Chris and Cigi came for an outdoor visit.

Cigi was quite happy amusing herself by climbing on and off the shelf under the coffee table.
