Grandkids - week 1

I haven't been blogging because I have been laid low by Bronchitis and been busy with visitors. (A crappy combination!)

Mike, Aimee, Avery, Maya and River came for a week.

Joined on the first weekend by Jason, Chris and Cigi (photo by Aimee)

Swimming in the lake was, of course, a favorite activity, followed closely by bubble

making

and chasing.

Inside there was fort making

Cigi has to wear an eye patch for an hour a day to correct a "lazy eye".

Mike's reaction to the size of his cone from the Ice Cream Tank. Food is a big part of a visit to Dover ..... pizza, ice cream, Arbor hot dogs and Knechtels Perch and Fries.

More swimming. Maya was nervous, at first, about swimming in the lake (more used to a pool) but warmed up to it

with various floating assists.

Aimee's favorite spot...in the Unicorn with a drink. Photo by Mike.

The drinking made more difficult by the addition of River. Photo by Mike

Aimee's brother Jr and his family came for a day of BBQ,

swimming

and bonding (Olivia and River) Photo by Aimee

with cousins (Avery, Maya and Nolan) Photo by Aimee.

A quick day trip to Aimee's sisters to meet their newest cousin.

There was some "chillin"

and snacking.

Some time at the beach...

and a walk at the commercial harbour.

Mini golf. I was on stroller duty. Photo by Aimee.

Mike kayaked on the lake and on the river,

taking Avery back with him to see the Painted and Snapping Turtles.

It was a whirlwind week

then Mike, Aimee and River flew back to Edmonton

leaving Avery and Maya with me for another week.
