We had done two, back to back, walking days and my knee was complaining, so today was another slow day. Not a lot of photos.
We did two loads of laundry and hung them outside as there wasn't supposed to be a lot of wind today and then I started on a painting.
Rick went for a walk and then when he came back we had lunch: I had a salad with avocado and boiled egg, Rick had a couple of peanut butter and jam sandwiches. We are living high on the hog here!
| Rick had said it was shorts weather when he came back so I changed into a bathing suit and shorts to go to the beach. |
There were more people on the beach than we had seen before. Not just walking but also laying on towels, sitting on beach chairs. A young couple swam (actually just dived in and got out shortly after), she topless. I read for a while and the wind came up, taking off my hat and sending me scurrying (as much as a 70 year old woman can scurry) down the beach to retrieve it. I walked into the water. It was very cold. As the wind had come up I deferred the swimming for a day when I could be warm when I got out.
We talked to two Canadians from Kingston who were traveling around Europe with their two St Bernards. They said they had taken a charter flight that catered to dog owners.
BARK Air began with a simple mission: make flying with dogs feel less like a hassle and more like a treat. Today, we’re more than just an airline. We’re a hospitality service with one goal: make every journey joyful for dogs and the people who love them. from the BarkAir website.
| Back to the apartment and I finished another beach scene painting. |
I cooked up a stir fry at the same time and then Rick and I had a drink and snack on the balcony. Another lovely day.
So now for some guest photographers :
