After hiking and having dinner with Mum and Dad, Nicola and I drove back to Ancaster to a B &B that we had stayed in a couple of times before. When considering where to stay it was obvious to go back to Serenity Ranch. We knew that Shane would be meticulous about keeping his guests safe.

There are so many beautiful things all over the building that I can't understand how he keeps it all clean. But he does, spotless.

We stayed in the same room as the first time we came and there were just a few things missing. Most notably, the Teddy Bears, and Shane reported that, sadly, covid prevented him from filling the rooms with Teddy Bears, even though they were all washable.

Outside there was a new firepit

next to the corn field.

The lights they put in were too bright so they glued lenses, from Dollar Store sunglasses, over them. Clever.

Plenty of accommodation

for the birds too.

The other covid adaptation was that we were asked to choose a half hour time slot for our breakfast and it was served in our own private dining room, next to our bedroom.

What hadn't changed was how delicious it was. In addition to this plate full (those are peach pancakes!) I had a melt in your mouth croissant (no need for butter) and unlimited good strong coffee. We would be carrying extra weight on the hike but as Nicola pointed out; lots of protein to fuel us. |
