End of the sailing season

2 days after our return from B.C., Rick and I were out on Burlington Bay

racing all the way up to the Skyway and

and then back down to the far end, close to Coots Paradise,

on Windthief, with Dianna and Gord.

It was the Royal Hamilton Yacht Club, Turkey Regatta, and because we came in 6th we got a chicken (top 3 got a turkey). Dianna, along with most other participants, donated it to Mission Services.

Then up before the sun

to get Spellbound lifted out.

Up to Waterloo to pick up the race division flags

which are given out at the Yacht Club on a Saturday afternoon

with a fabulous buffet, drinks

and much "sailing talk".

This time of year makes for

some lovely sunsets

and the opportunity

to play with that golden light.

It is also perfect for astrophotography - dark early, not too cold, clear nights. Andromeda Galaxy. Photo by Rick.

Lynn Valley Trail at Silver Lake Park. One of the few places showing any good colour. It has been dry, no frost at night and the trees seem to be losing their leaves without a big show this year.
