Grandchildren - summer 2017

No apologies, most of this post is just random grandchild pictures, my diary of their visit which was short, fun and exhausting.
OK this one isn't. Daniele is a fabulous cook and bought this delicious zucchini cheese casserole when she, Si and Fi came to dinner. It looked better than the picture in the Food and Drink magazine and tasted delicious.
Perpetually sandy
Sunscreen and orange.
Mayas not that thrilled with the sand.
Some of that actually went in her mouth.
"aahh"
So much laundry for 2 little people.
About to ride on the flutter board.

Maybe not.

Lets swim over there.
Yes, that was fun!
Actually swimming is a spectator sport.
Digging the lake.
Come on in it's not cold.
Hours of enjoyment from a bucket and spade
and drawing in the sand.
Empty boxes can be pretty entertaining too. (Chris and Jason's place in Toronto)
At the High Park Zoo and he insisted on wearing his Paw Patrol backpack.
First enclosure, ducks and geese, and Maya would have happily stayed there all day.
But there was more to see.
Theres a better view when carried but Avery insisted on running most of the time.
Reindeer parading by.

Maya stuck to the vantage point of Jason.

Highland calf with an itchy chin.
Out of the zoo and there's some more of the, ever popular, "duckies"
and a huge playground
Avery loved the "off roading", Maya just held on.
After a long walk it was back to the zoo.
Chris was thrilled that the Capybara family was out in the enclosure now
Largest rodent in the world and semi-aquatic.
This was the pair that escaped last year, causing a huge "capybara hunt" in High Park. Finally captured before winter set in, they subsequently had a family. They were just looking for a little privacy.
Lovely day in High Park
followed by "all you can eat" sushi. Basically Avery will eat anything that you can dip in soy sauce.
Whats that your eating?
Great visit. Exhausting
