Serenity Ranch B & B, Ancaster

Nicola and I moved further up the Bruce Trail because accommodation, anywhere near Niagara Falls, was getting very expensive. So for the Hamilton section, Nicola booked Serenity Ranch B & B. So for approximately the same price as we paid for the Days Inn room in St Catherines, last time, we were pampered in the best accommodation I have ever stayed in. Nicola tends to travel to high end resorts and agreed with this assessment.
Minutes from Ancaster, in the country, and only 20km from where we finished on the Bruce on Saturday.
We stayed in "Suite Serenity" which had a huge, soft bed, lots of space, a cedar lined closet, a TV,  racks for our luggage, 2 dressers, a safe, good reading lights, windows that opened; every thing you could possible want...
microwave and popcorn,
a full selection of bathroom necessities,
a two person shower (romantic and saves water, it is a country property after all, though our host, Shane showed us the state-of-the-art water treatment),
a weather station, packs of cards, long distance phone calls,
and in this pretty little bedside box

some things Nicola and I definitely didn't need (Shane and Alan had truly thought of everything)
The rest of the property is equally well appointed, beautifully decorated (Shane talked about "shopping 'til he dropped") and catering to guests comfort.
The dining area ready for breakfast
Wraparound porches with comfy chairs,
 lots of plants
and candles (always with a lighter nearby)
Caly, the resident cat and
Shelby, the resident Doodle, official greeter and lover of breakfast ham.
Outside there are plenty of places to relax
by the pond

or watching the birds
at the feeder.
If the weather isn't co-operating there is a separate little "cottage" with comfy chairs
and a table with games
which is a great place to watch the sunset. (Photo by Nicola)
We asked for breakfast at 8am. (this is the table set for the family with 2 children)
We were offered scrambled or fried, juice and had a carafe of coffee on the table. I had a huge freshly baked croissant and Nic had gluten free toast. Excellent fuel for a day of hiking and delicious.
The wall of awards is well deserved. It is ranked #1 B & B in Canada on Trip Advisor (#14 in the world)
It is a lovely place and Nicola and I will stay there again when we continue the Ancaster section of the Trail. The website is http://www.serenityranchbb.com/
