We woke to a still and sunny morning and a view that just invites you to linger over coffee.
We didn't linger too long but set out for a nearby walk. Parked at the side of the road, no-one around.
and through a gate, down a path
We decided to take the red route to the blue loop and back along the rest of the red. We ended up a little confused and did the blue loop twice accidentally, so in total about 3km.
Some rocks and roots hidden under leaves but mostly a very good path.
Some foliage brown and dead,
some still green and alive and
and most somewhere in between.
Sporadic views of lakes
but mostly,
as advertised,
wetlands, with
bridges and broadwalks
where necessary.
We got back in the car and drove to the other end of the property to hike the Juniper Trail.
Another "out and back" trail
on a flat, rocky ridge
gave us another 1.5km.
That was enough distance for today.
On the way home we stopped, briefly,
at Burleigh Falls.
Home for an afternoon of reading and
napping on the deck.
I went out on the dock to put my hand in the water....nope, too cold for swimming.
