Rick and I spent a week at Lovesick Lake, in a cottage belonging to his daughter, in 2023. That was in the first week of September and we had amazing, warm, sunny weather. Went kayaking and even swam. This year its 3 weeks later.

| Up and on the road by 6am to beat the Toronto traffic and after a stop for groceries in Lakefield |
| we arrived at about 11am to a beautiful, sunny day. |
| But there is rain in the forecast so I took lots of photos that I may paint. |
We ate lunch and then decided to stretch our legs after the long drive, by walking the cottage road.
| Although the leaves are past their peak up here |
| there is still plenty |
| of colour. |
| Out to the main road is a little over 1km |
| Up and down, gravel and rocks, laneways to cottages, a flock of Juncos and a few Blue Jays, |
| a selection of squirrels and some chipmunks. The next day there was a dead Mink on the road. |
| Then it was time for a book on the deck |
| and then a glass of wine, while the pasta sauce simmered. |
| Then more photos taken during "the golden hour" |
| when the light really is |
| much better. |
| Rick setting up his astrophotography equipment as there are only a few clear nights in the forecast. |
