Ceret - another cold, wet day (but I'm not complaining)

10 degrees and constant rain today. Really the first day in 46 that weather has stopped us doing what we want. Can't complain about that!
Not a great day
for the French café culture.
On the way through the old town for our croissant a white van was driving down towards us. Mum and I took refuge in a doorway, limbs in, stomachs sucked in and he crawled past us, tires scrapping both curbs and his wing mirror did scrape a downspout.
The corner to that street has a rock at the bottom and the edge is stone, not covered
with plaster. Other corners show the effects of multiple scraped wing mirrors and fenders.
After I showed pictures of the outside of the place we are staying in there were requests for some interior shots. Luckily I took these on a brighter day. So here is the interior of 7 Bis Place de La Republique.
In through the front door there is a bright foyer due to a plate glass window and these
sliding glass doors on to the driveway and garden.
From the foyer you step into the large living room/dining room area. The windows
let in the morning sun and look out onto the Place de la Republique. There is a bathroom
(with a washing machine) and kitchen coming off this room and stairs up.
The kitchen is also large. Frig, cook top, wall mount oven, sink. Margie has said that
it is the next on her list to renovate but it is practical and useable.
The butchers black unit has shelves for all the dishes, bowls etc and
a toaster and coffee maker on top.
At the top of the stairs there as a little WC and separately this large bathroom.
Tiled shower, deep bathtub, sink, bidet (how French).
The French doors from my balcony to my bedroom (well of course
their French doors, they're in France aren't they?) My room has
two single beds.
From my balcony; driveway, garden and looking across Ceret towards the hills and the Med.
From my balcony; the large parking lot at the edge of the old town to the
hill behind town (Pyrenees are beyond).
Mum and Dad have the large bedroom at the front of the building
With windows looking across Place de la Republique to the
library and the old arch.
The weather forecast for tomorrow is better so hopefully there will be more sunny pictures.
