New Brunswick Trip - Day 1, To Pakenham

I set off from home at about 8am, picked up Rick in Hamilton at about 9:30 and took Hwy 407 and Hwy 7 to Pakenham. Arrived at about 4:30 and immediately Mark, Emma, Rick and I took the dogs for a walk, needing to stretch our legs.

We walked up the road to their neighbours property

where we could let the dogs off leash.

Polo runs like the wind with Jasper in hot pursuit, sounding like a squeeky toy.

It was very difficult to get pictures

unless they were still for a second. Mark and Emm  told us how well behaved Polo was and that Jasper was improving,

just before they jumped in the pond and were finally dragged out, wet, muddy messes. Home to get them bathed.

It was lovely to catch up with Emma's work at an organic produce farm (she gets paid in vegetables)

and Sarah's work at a mushroom farm. Part of what she does is the marketing and her pictures make them look like works of art.

Blue Oyster mushrooms

A mushroom bouquet.

Supper of homemade pizza, lots of dog cuddles, bed, breakfast, braided Heather's hair before she left to school and then we were back on the road.

I wanted to show Rick the 5 span bridge and we drove out that way.

Such a pretty spot.

Driving there we had noted that the trees had started to change colour, pretty but not yet spectacular.
