Crete - last day in Sitia

After yesterdays hike we gave our legs a rest and just did a loop walk through the olive groves.

When we went out on to the patio in the morning a couple was already working at pruning the olive trees in front of the house and there was the sound of the irrigation system running.

These are being grown in many of the small vegetable gardens we see on our walks. I think they are Stamnagathi which are often picked wild but can be cultivated. They are described as bitter-sweet when they are young and can be eaten raw or cooked.

Lots of cats out in the sun

and these 2 sweet little kittens came running to see if we had any food to offer.

No, but we did give them lots of strokes.

I spent the rest of the day lazing on the patio and Rick did his usual walk into town.

We then packed and tidied ready to leave the next morning. I realized I had not posted any photos of the inside of the house. This is the downstairs living room and washroom,

dining room and kitchen. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower and a washing machine. It was a very comfortable house and very well equipped.
