The boats were at a lovely dockage. One pier was for the Yacht Club and the other slips (more than 200) were managed by the State Park. The whole complex is quite new and beautifully kept. As we arrived during the week there were very few boats there. On the weekend it was absolutely full with music from many of the boats and groups with buffet tables along the dock. However, during the week, lovely!
I rented one of the bikes available at the marina and cycled the island. This took 45 minutes with a stop at the store and to take pictures.

The little general store. The restaurant, attached, serves excellent pizza (thin or thick crust) |

This building must have been the church but now appears to be a private home. |
Debra and I went kayaking and both Zatarra's and Between the Sheets dinghies were used for touring around the island.

There were lots of herons .... |
|
white herons (or egrets, not sure) |

and black headed gulls and terns all over the docks. |
It was race weekend so we often saw fleets of sailboats on both the east and west sides of the island.
