One last day at Middle Bass

We needed a recovery day after Put in Bay and went fishing on Between the Sheets. As we only had Canadian fishing licenses we motored across the international border to fish. Although there were lots of Americans fishing in their waters, we were the only ones in Canadian waters, fishing. We put out 3 lines and played with a couple of new fishing contraptions.
While waiting for the fish we saw a curious bird - "what's that up ahead??", "don't know, large, white, low over the water...". It turned out to be a white pelican. I was too surprised to even get my camera on it.

They let me pull in the first one, a Sheepshead, and we threw it back. Don, who took
it off the hook, said it was at least 6lbs, possibly 8lbs. I gather they are not good to eat.
Paul pulled in the next one, another Sheepshead. We headed back in. Equipment had passed the test
even though we didn't have fish for dinner.
Coming back into Middle Bass Marina
Sunset after a thunderstorm.
Middle Bass was an excellent location. It was quiet during the week. Close to Put in Bay and the party and race atmosphere. Facilities were excellent and staff helpful. Only problem was that one of the storms we got (which gave us great light shows and impressive skies) knocked out the internet and they were not able to fix it.
