Bruce Trail - Sixth Line to Speyside.

We started this hike parked on the side of a road directly across the 401 from Rattlesnake Point and Kelso.
It was sunny and cool
The first 6 km were along the edge of the escarpment with views to the south
and east, to the Toronto skyline.

We walked across a bridge that spanned a section cut out of the escarpment by a quarry. I wonder how they got permission to do that.
The views were lovely, especially while the weather co-operated, but the walking was difficult. Rocky, loose stones, roots, having to look carefully as we placed our feet and twisting and turning, hard on the hips.
We sat and snacked beside a swollen stream
and then , as the path moved away from the escarpment edge, into swampy areas, we again were amazed at
the fungi.
We took about 3 hrs to do the 9km, started feeling much looser and more relaxed than yesterday but the going was harder and we ended sore again. We vowed to do a better job next year, booking and completing more than the 24km we did this year.
We drove into the outskirts of Milton for a quick lunch and then returned to our respective homes.
