The morning view
out of my bedroom window with a 2ft wide sill.
The house is a study in contrasts. Thick, thick walls give away its age, as do the creaking floors and narrow staircase. But it has been lovingly renovated with multitudes of electric plugs, pot lights, 4 beautifully decorated bedrooms(sleeps 7) and 4 bathrooms. The kitchen has everything you could ask for including 2 dishwashers (after all it sleeps 7). It is oddly nostalgic for me as it also has a pull cord light switch in my bathroom and heavy curtains, tied back with tasseled cords, are on all the doors to prevent drafts, even some interior ones.

We drove out the driveway, out our single track road and then left on the main (I use that term loosely) road to head north up the coast.

First photo opportunity...The Old Man of Storr
Stopping to photograph this little waterfall
gave me another chance at The Old Man, a 55ft pinnacle. We then bypassed the huge, full, parking lot at the entry to the trail to get closer to him.
The next stop, with an extra large lay-by for parking was the Lleat Falls. We ignored the falls and walked straight out to the sea view.
To the left, evidence of salmon farming and
to the right, the islands of Raasay and Rona and the Scottish mainland beyond.
Behind us, the clouds obscured the tops of the mountains of Skye.
We checked out the falls
before getting back in the car.

Well my computer battery is running low, I have 100 pictures from today still to edit and I am running out of energy. Post to be continued.
