The Wednesday group walk was quite close to home so we didn't have to leave, and pick up Jimmy, until 9:40, which made for a relaxing morning start.
We met in the village of Mandria and walked through potato fields
to the coast. 8 of us. Rick chatted most of the time with Terry, who had plenty of stories to tell about his round the world sailing trip.
It was a lovely flat walk beside
empty beaches
and rocky shoreline.
Snow covered mountains behind the coastal plain
and a tethered donkey.
Fishing for Sea Breem
and hunting for wild Asparagus.
A mothballed desalination plant.
Veering away from the coast and looping back towards the village we passed numerous greenhouses.
I slipped my camera in through a flap to see what was being grown....red peppers.
About 7km, very flat and sometimes muddy. We finished at a restaurant in Mandria with a Chinese Chef. I had an excellent prawn curry and rice, Rick; stir fried vegetables. Of course wine and beer too.
