Cyprus - rain, wind, hail = paint.

An earthquake in Turkey, about 500 km away, got Facebook all abuzz as some people in Cyprus had felt it. It occurred at  about 3:30am and we felt nothing. Multiple after shocks that we didn't feel either. The news from Turkey and Syria is very bad though with thousands dead and injured and uncooperative weather making rescues and recovery difficult.

We have had a couple of days of bad weather. We just stayed in the house. For me that meant some time to paint.

I took a couple of days to paint Cigi and Jason on the beach at Avdimou, playing with the resist to make the sparkles on the water and then adding some silver glitter watercolour, I had bought with this in mind, from the art store in Guelph.

The next days class was also learning how to use resist with a brush and with toothpicks although the teacher recommended a pen nib as the best tool.

15 minutes left in the class and I did a quick "sketch" of a mill pond. Got the angles all wrong but it looks OK held sideways. :)
