UK 2014, Harrogate, Jamie Oliver's Italian

We just got back from the restaurant and were all pleasantly impressed. I had anticipated that it would not live up to all the Jamie Oliver marketing. We were seated at a round table which is lovely for 5 people. Our only complaint about the whole experience was that the music was not to our taste and occasionally too loud.
Don and I both had the seasonal vegetables plank. Grilled vegetables in olive oil and herbs, various
cheeses with marinades and sauces, olives and bruschetta. It was all delicious, the kind of food that
you taste, savour and try and figure out the spices and herbs. It was about 7 pounds.
I had the Superfood Salad which had avocado, beets, pomegranate and various grains, with smoked salmon, about 8 pounds. Again, it had to be eaten slowly and each forkful savored. I had the small sized portion and it was plenty after the plank.
Heather had the crab bruschetta followed by this, vegetable rotolo al forno.
Pam had this dish; squid and mussels with squid ink pasta. The smell of garlic and seafood wafted
across the table and Pam let both Heather and I try some as we had not had squid ink before. It tasted
of the sea and was surprisingly good in spite of the dramatic black noodles.
It was perfectly portioned, we were satisfied but not stuffed. Some had decaf coffee, Don had an espresso and I had Lemoncello. We shared 2 carafes of wine (one red, one white). All in all a wonderful meal, everything you want when you go out to dinner.

And now for something completely different:
During her wandering today, Heather took a picture of a metal toilet roll holder that she was really impressed with. This lead to some ribbing and then a discussion of  the washrooms in Jamie Oliver's restaurant.
The toilets are made by Thomas Crapper (seriously!) and have Oliver embossed on them.
A variety of pedestal sinks and mirrors.
This is the first post that I have included toilet pictures ! And hopefully the last. Bad influence of my Paris friends.
