Pissouri, Cyprus - Walk to Melanda Bay

Jimmy and I took Pippa, in Jenny and John's second  car, to the hill above Pissouri Beach to try a route to Melanda Bay. Jimmy had printed off a Google Earth picture of the area and had marked a potential route. Jenny gave us a kit with vials of medication and syringes, in case Pippa eats poison or has an altercation with a snake. Also a water bottle and bowl.

Pippa gets very excited at the prospect of a walk and runs around like a mad thing at the beginning. She is, however, 8 years old and gradually calms down and just explores, nose down, searching for goat poo to eat. Lots to be found here. It was warm and muggy so she needed lots of water. (wash down that goat poo).

We hadn't walked this area for nearly a month and grasses, bushes and flowers had all been growing like crazy.
Including some flowers I had not seen before.
The Google Earth map didn't really translate that well. We couldn't see one of the tracks that was on the map and we found some that were not discernible on the printed page, but we ended up in the right place on a wide track
bordered by recently plowed fields
that would lead down to the road to Melanda Bay.
Further down the path, a field of what looked like peas.
Looking them up on the internet, they may be Snow Peas.
It was announced on FaceBook that the restaurant would be opening March 14 after a winter of renovations. There were vans there and people working, painting and plumbing.

Playing beside the restaurant, two little hound puppies. Probably destined to be hunting dogs.
Pippa rushed over, barking, and scared one under a car but this little girl stuck around to be stroked, as Jimmy took Pippa further down the path.

From here we were walking back towards Pissouri Bay, along the coast.
That rock is ready to go any time.

Then, in a field, on top of the cliffs:

Labyrinths

3 of them, 2 are not quite finished yet. They are not listed on labyrinthlocator.com so I have no idea who put them there or why, but they are in a lovely position and make we want to use them.
I actually found a wild asparagus spear growing under a gorse bush, near the cliff top, but instead of taking a picture, I just ate it!
Pippa actually went down to the sea and waded. Jimmy said that in the summer he got her to go right in but she tried to climb up on top of him, "save me".
Just before we got back to the car - another orchid.
