Another beautiful sunny day and we headed to the next bay east from Pissouri Bay, Avdimou Bay. There was no sign but I drove, on the B6, beyond the track to the Melanda Bay restaurant, and down the next "road". Passed vineyards and greenhouses (growing tomatoes) and it dead ended at the beach.

Long beach with a mix of sand and stones.

When Nic and Dave were here with me in 2020, we dragged broken sunbeds out from under the closed restaurant and lay in the sun.

We pretty well had it to ourselves, one man swimming, a woman walking. Chris paddled and said it was cold.

So they settled for playing in the stones.

Swimming in the stones.

throwing them in the surf

and just plain amusing herself.

I walked down the beach, just enjoying the sound of the waves on the stones, the slight breeze and the smell of the sea.

I didn't get as far as the abandoned building. I have since read that it is a Muslim monument near a grave site. It seems Avdimou was a mostly Turkish Cypriot village before the war in 1974. That explains the minaret on the village church. I will save that walk for another day.

We had planned to eat lunch out but Cigi was tired so we opted instead to eat at home and get her down for a nap. Our days have developed a routine. Cigi wakes us early (5:30, 6ish), we have coffee and breakfast slowly, do something in the morning (walk, go somewhere) and then while she naps after lunch I read outside and Chris and Jason also nap. Then a walk, supper and put her to bed around 7.

There is a covering for shade over the back patio and we have a consistent visitor

sleeping the day away up there. He tends to move off in the late afternoon as it gets cooler. He has been named "Silly Cat" by Cigi.
