Cyprus - Chris, Jason and Cigi's last day

The day started in a flurry of packing. Jason had packed the day before but Christine and Cigi still needed packing. It is amazing how much stuff a toddler needs. They do travel with a pack and play for her to sleep in and a high chair as well as, of course, the car seat. Christine, never one to miss a chance to see something, wanted to see a cat sanctuary (Cyprus has many) before leaving so we needed to be out the door by 10 as the nearest one closed at 11.

Not hard to find, just this side of Limassol, Malcolm's Cat Sanctuary.

According to the write up, in the calendar that I bought, it was started in the mid 1980's by a retired Army Major. It is continued by volunteers with dedicated areas for kittens, cats needing veterinary care and those with high needs. The rest wander the facility which has sand pit areas as huge litter boxes.

Cyprus has a huge feral cat population and a Catch, Neuter and Release program that cannot keep up.

Plenty of private bedrooms

Some seeking company.

Others just chilling.

Many of them were looking for attention. Chris didn't appreciate the one using claws to get it. There were brushes on tables and as soon as you picked them up to brush a cat, more came over also seeking the spa treatment.

We drove on to Larnaca where they were booked in to a lovely seaview hotel (with heated indoor pool) as they had to catch an early flight the next day. We had lunch there and then I drove home.
