I forgot to put it in yesterdays blog but this is the door into the phyllo makers shop. |
Just a little way down and on the other side of the street is Art and About. Finally a real art gallery not one just selling tourist/mass produced "art". |
The proprietor said it was fine to take pictures and put them up on to the blog. These by Dana Dana. |
Most of Taal Goldmans were painted on brown paper bags. |
Loved the colours. By Irit Levin. |
So realistic. By Hanan Milner |
Variations on the bull theme by Elya Yalonetski. |
These are not your usual cute kitties. By Olga Oreshnikov. |
Some sweet little miniatures |
also by Hanan Milner. |
The proprietor said he didn't know the artist for this one, it had been left after a public exhibition. I found it amusing |
along with the t-shirts he had for sale.Designed by Ziv Koren. |
It was two stories of diverse works of art and most of the artists have a link to both Crete and Israel.
From there I continued |
through the old town |
to the Venetian Harbour |
to finish my sketch of the lighthouse |
and do another of Rick's crane. |
Little pieces of history |
at every turn. |
I hadn't been down this street before |
another Mosque |
abandoned, neglected, surrounded by weeds. |
Meanwhile in Munich Rick went to the science museum. This time he identified the photos he sent even though he reported an exhausting day of walking and now needing a nap! I have copied the identification verbatim rather than having to deal with the German spelling myself.
Frauenkirke from Marienplatz. The two towers are quite a landmark |
Otto von Bismark |
Looks a bit like a Maypole. It was in what I call the market area. The whole area is filled with vendors selling cheese meat, veggies etc |
A picture of the museum from the bridge |
The first diesel engine |
They had a fantastic aviation display, its wear I spent the most time |
Lunar Rover |
