Port de Soller. Mallorca, Spain - Balearic Day

The Day of the Balearic Islands (Día de les Illes Balears) is a local public holiday on the Balearic Islands, which are part of Spain, on March 1 each year. This date commemorates when the Balearic Islands' Statute of Autonomy came into effect on March 1, 1983. (from timeanddate.com)

I have been using the workmen, renovating the apartment below me, as my alarm clock, as they arrive and open the garage door every day around 8am. Well Wednesday was a holiday so I had an unplanned little sleep in.

This is what it said on the Sollerweb calendar for March 1;
at 11 am, Circus Parade, from CircBover. Start on the street of Sa Lluna and tour by Plaza, jeroni Estardes and Born.
– at 12 noon, in front of the town hall, show kinesis, of the Cia Des-equilibrats. A show that talks about emotions from the acrobàcies and the circus

I thought that sounded pretty interesting so headed, on the tram, into Soller
while still playing with the camera.
It was a beautiful clear day in Port
but looked as if Soller might be a bit more unpredictable.

When I got into Soller this was the set up in front of the town hall
and the entertainers were preparing. Getting the music going and practicing juggling.
They rode around the square and the surrounding streets
singing and encouraging children to come to their show.
The unicyclist was very good, constantly making it look as if he was out of control.
They attracted an audience on and around the town hall steps and all the rest of us at the cafes and around the fountain.
The kids were engaged (except the one who would rather eat)
he wasn't sure what to make of it.
There was singing with lots of audience participation, juggling multiple bowler hats and spinning balls but it all had to pause to let the tram go safely by.
It was really aimed at the 10 and under crowd so I went for a walk around and bought a piece of carrot cake to eat later.
Swinging back past, a young woman was doing cartwheels and balances on a couple of wooden chairs.
I decided it was too nice a day to do anything but this, so I came home, got into my bathing suit and spent the afternoon finishing a Lee Child book.
