Port de Soller, Mallorca, Spain - Niece week begins (with additions)

A delayed flight in Toronto and a tight connection in Madrid but Sarah, Fiona and Heather arrived for their March Break.
Home from the airport and they unpacked, settled in and then went down to the sea front for a walk and so they could get the lay of the land.
Cheers.
We ordered 2 Pa amb oli at DK Lounge. This photo is of one order.  Liz had recommended it and said it was large enough for 2 to share and she was right.
Pa amb oli means "bread with olive oil" in Majorcan, and it is as commonly eaten in the Balearic Islands as pa amb tomàquet is in Catalonia. But while the Majorcan usually add the tomato to their bread and then the olive oil, most Catalans do the reverse. Both preparations can be served as breakfast, as a snack at any time, or as an accompaniment to lunch or dinner. As with pa amb tomàquet, this recipe can be embellished with a topping of jamón serrano, anchovies, or cheese.

We discovered that Sarah and Heather don't like olives so Fiona and I got to work our way through 2 dishes of them. Fi also powered her way through the hot peppers (I only managed one).
We finished off the meal just down the street at Fet a Soller for gelato.

The girls are exhausted and giddy, alternating between fits of giggles and dozing on their feet. Quote of the day from Heather "My Spanish is getting better, I can totally understand this menu, Sangria, Marguarita, Daquari, Pina Colada......." Later, also Heather,  while trying to read the hot chocolate package "Hey, this is in Spanish!"

They managed to stay awake until 9pm by going for walks on the beach, playing skip-bo and playing cheat.
Heather e-mailed me some pictures from their walk on the beach:
