Mallorca Day 21 - Alcudia

Walking down for our morning coffee we saw a gentleman throwing bread into the water. Ducks and ( if you look carefully at the photo) fish, came to partake.
He was an equal opportunity feeder. The pigeons got some too.
Coming back to the apartment we were greeted by this. Last Friday we had a bit of a panic as suddenly there was no water. We e-mailed Angela and she got right back to us promising a plumber promptly. The next e-mail explained that actually the municipality had turned off the water for the day due to construction up the hill from us. On the weekend we noticed a poster on the next road up that we translated to mean we would have no water on the 20th (today). We were right. No water today. But at least there is no panic this time and we are not bothering Angela with it.
We were also greeted by this. Honestly we haven't been feeding her, just stroking her, but she seems to have adopted us anyway.
Last Friday when we did our road trip through the mountains we ended up at Pollenca and, around the bay, Alcudia. We went back to Alcudia today.
Its a walled town. We parked outside the walls and walked in.
The church is at one corner of the town.
There's a path, inside the walls, all the way around, la rhonda, and we walked it, another urban hike.
We sat just outside these gates and ate our picnic.
These are more my kind of bikes than those "tour de France" type road bikes. I think these would be called "cruisers".
We found a section where we could walk on the top of the wall
looking over the countryside to the Bay of Pollenca (pronounced "poyensa")
and down into the towns narrow streets.

Having walked all the way round we went into the town
and admired
the ancient
and quaint buildings.
Near the town hall, in the centre of town, we found a cafe to have a coffee.
Eve went to take photos of the moat and I sat and sketched the main gate until receiving a phone call from Chris. She told me that Gord Osmond (her best friend, Teri's, father) had passed away suddenly. What a shock, a truly nice man. So sad for Teri and her family. There are really no words.
On returning home we went out to dinner at Pizzeria el Port. Sorry the food picture was a little blurry, could have been the wine.
