Mallorca Day 23 - chill day

On an average day I take anywhere from 50 to 100 pictures. In the evening I load them on to my computer and about 20% of them are deleted immediately because they are blurry or overexposed or just don"t look as interesting as I thought they would. Then I pick the ones that I like best and rotate, crop, fix etc. Today I took 18! It was a relaxing day.
We had our usual coffee at the harbour (but we did find a restaurant that would serve a grande cafe con leche. It was as expensive as drinking one at a Starbucks).
Then we drove into Soller intending on doing some shopping and visiting the botanical gardens. We got there at 11. The shops would close at 1 and the gardens at 2. So first we walked down from the main road (where we could park) to go shopping.
Down roads we hadn't walked before
to the square in front of the station.
There are some lovely clothing shops in Soller and all the winter merchandise is 50% off. Eve got some great deals and the styles here are different than at home.
Then we were hungry so we ate at the same restaurant, in the square, that we ate at yesterday. They had a different selection of tapas and I chose a different 3 from yesterday and Eve had the Gnocci with sage and asparagus. Eve had seen a necklace she liked that she wanted to show me. It turned out that it was in a jewelry store  (Altes)  where the owner (Victor Altes Mas) designed and made all the jewelry.
Victor showed us the whole process. This was where he melted the silver and gold.
His designs are simple, unusual and classy.

Sterling silver, gold and rose gold. Occasionally a precious stone but the emphasis was primarily on design.
There were many tempting pieces; necklaces, ear rings, rings but Eve settled on the necklace she had first seen in the window.
By the time we finished and got back to the car the botanical gardens were closed. Oh well, maybe Friday.
Home at about 2:30 and the sun is on the patio. It was there for about an hour, so I read in the sun. I am reading All the Light We Cannot See. Excellent book, difficult to put down but it started to get cool out there once I was back in the shade again.
On our late afternoon walk we commented on the number of restaurants and shops that have opened just since Eve got here just over a week ago. The Stand Up Paddleboard shop hasn't yet dressed the mannequins (or maybe they stay naked, it will get hotter)
Wine at Brothers Bar
watching the sun sink behind the mountains. It's not really sunset, easily another hour before it actually sinks into the ocean, but we can't see that from here.

We don't eat out all the time. Chicken Masala, rice and broccoli at home tonight.
